Camping Les Vernières welcomes you in the heart of a prestigious site in Auvergne, in La Bourboule in a green and natural environment, at 900m altitude, planted with hundred-year-old trees on the banks of the Dordogne, south of Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme (63).
The 4-star campsite is ideally located in the middle of the Auvergne Volcanoes Natural Park, in the Massif du Sancy.
Our site offers free leisure activities that will delight the whole family:
Aquatic park with heated and covered swimming pool, sports fields, free children’s club, fitness room, collective covered barbecue. The animations take place from 10/07/23 to 25/08/2023.
A paradise for campers, in addition to its mobile home rentals, the camping Les Vernières offers pitches : area of +80m² or + 120m² , accommodating all models and ranges of tents, caravans and motorhomes.

LE PUY DE SANCY: is the highest peak of the Massif Central, with an altitude of 1886m. The Puy de Sancy is, despite its mountain air, a real volcano. At the top, crater point, it is a stratovolcano. Very complex system, a strato-volcano consists of several volcanoes nested in each other and whose eruption phases are not simultaneous. Eruptive vents sprang from lava of different compositions and aspects, which partly explains the wide variety of landscapes. The volcanic massif of Monts Dore, of which the Puy de Sancy is the highest point, began its formation 5 million years ago, to end about 250,000 years ago. The last ice age, dating back 13,000 years, has, by the action of glaciers, shaped the large radiating valleys around the massif: valleys of Chaudefour, Fontaine Salée and Haute Dordogne.
CLERMONT FERRAND: With its imposing Gothic cathedral and the volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys looming on the horizon, Clermont-Ferrand offers a striking panorama. The capital of Auvergne is not only a pretty city, it is also a cultural hotspot with squares lined with cafes, gourmet restaurants and live concert halls.
LE PUY DE DOME: The Puy de Dôme is the highest peak of the tectonic mecca Chaîne des Puys – Limagne fault, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2018. It offers visitors a breathtaking 360° view of the 80 volcanoes with various shapes aligned on 45 km long and 5 km wide…
GRAND SITE DE FRANCE, the Puy de Dôme is both protected and landscaped. This symbolic place steeped in history can be visited throughout the year. The trails that run through it and its altitude of 1465 m make it a real escape ground, on earth as in the sky.
CHAINE DES PUYS AND FAULT DE LIMAGNE: Many trails bypass the volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys – Limagne fault, connect them, lead to their summits: Puy de Dôme, Grand Site de France®, Puys de Pariou, de la Vache or Lassolas… This set of 80 volcanoes uniquely presents the initial phase of separation of a continent in two, through the combination of rift processes, sedimentation, volcanism, uplift and erosion… all the great mechanisms that shape the continents.
The exploration of these volcanic landscapes allows you to browse this compact and diverse collection of volcanic forms (domes, cones, maars), to contemplate exceptional panoramas and to observe a sumptuous nature mixing wildlife and protected flora. A real escape ground and a jewel of natural heritage!
